April 2002 Bike of the Month belongs to Nigel from the United Kingdom.

Nigel recently picked up this 1990 NSR 250R SP a few months back and has really enjoyed the bike since then.

This NSR is fitted with a complete RS250 upper and lower cowl along with a carbon fiber RS250 seat cowl. The RS upper cowl was modified to work with the original headlight, and required some custom brackets and other little modifications.

The rear swingarm and frame were fully polished to a nice shiny mirror finish. Nigel's NSR is custom painted in Chesterfield Tech 3 colors. The wheel pin strips really make this bike stand out.

A front fender also from the RS250 gives this NSR a more authentic GP look. Smaller turn signals front and rear with clear lenses clean up the image and help to distinguish this NSR from others.

The back of the bike shows the stock NSR twin round lights peeking out from under the carbon fiber RS seat. Future plans will see a custom made LED light for cleaner looks. The exhaust system of this bike is very interesting. It uses the normal MC21 stock exhaust system with Hobbsport carbon race cans. Peak power improved slightly with an incredible sound that literally roars.

Other improvements are a Quadrant fully adjustable rear shock, Goodridge braided brake lines all round, Dunlop GPR 70SP tires, K.I.S.S. racing CDI de-restrictor box, 1/4 turn quick action throttle kit also from K.I.S.S. Racing, and a Renthal aluminum rear sprocket.

Nigel has himself one beautiful NSR and future plans that will see a RVF400 upside down fork conversion, 2002 RS250 bodywork, race pipes and a re-jet along with more power that should put a bigger smile on his face !!
