What is this all about, 100SP? Did Honda really make a NSR100SP? .....no not really, but Larry thought it would be fun since Honda never built a NSR mini SP. 70K - Click for full size image
87K - Click for full size image The stock type one bodywork was retained. It was cleaned up and prepared for painting. The two piece rear seat was seemed together for a cleaner look and this NSR mini was sprayed in 2001 Repsol GP colors by Larry and his Father.
The paintwork process was a long and hard job. A replica sticker kit from GP Station took care of the decals and finally several coats of clear buffed to a perfect finish completed the looks to this little NSR. 88K - Click for full size image
57K - Click for full size image This NSR started off as a 50cc model but later on a complete 80cc engine was located. Larry quickly bought it up and installed that into his NSR. A larger carb was bolted in along with an unknown racing pipe from the 80cc engine he bought second hand.
On a recent trip to Japan Larry stocked up on NSR mini bike goodies. This amazing Jha NSR80 pipe was located, complete with a carbon kevlar silencer. It was super light weight, made huge gains in power and looks super trick. 82K - Click for full size image
61K - Click for full size image A new top clamp from a late model NSR mini was ordered. Posh preload adjusters and stem shaft nut give better looks and improve performance. The forks were rebuilt with new clip ons for more aggressive riding. A 160km/h Kitaco speedometer and Daytona illuminated digital temp gauge keep Larry well informed of what is going on with his NSR.
The engine performance upgrades did not stop with just a pipe. A complete Kitaco 100cc bore up kit was installed with a new larger ported cylinder, new head and high compression piston. Daytona Carbon Fiber reeds, Posh SP Racing CDI unit, Daytona turbo filter and a 28mm carb borrowed from a RS125 racer modified to work on this NSR mini. 97K - Click for full size image
69K - Click for full size image This little NSR goes pretty good. It has lots of power and can wheelie through the first three gears. So the brakes were improved with a custom Nissin master cylinder as used on the NSR250, steel braided brake lines and sport pads.
Larry loves riding his little NSR fast so he needed a better performing rear shock. He ordered an adjustable rear race shock from KYB. This helps a lot with the latest high grip Dunlop TT91GP mini bike tires. TTS clear anodized rear sets with GP style shifting help to keep his feet away from the ground through fast corners. A RK Gold chain with custom sprockets spins the rear wheel which is protected by the Daytona rear hugger. There are so many little upgrades, trick parts and improvements that can not be written in this small space about this absolutely spotless mini NSR. 80K - Click for full size image
