The May 2006 Bike of the Month belongs to Leigh Frost from The United Kingdom.

Leigh has always been a two stroke fan and owned a Suzuki RGV250 as well as other two strokers before the purchase of this NSR. One day (Seven years ago) Leigh found a MC28 SE model for sale and not too far from his town, so he decided to stop by and see the bike in person. He fell in love with it right away and immediately put a deposit on the bike.

After bringing the bike back home he enjoyed riding it just the way it was. The previous owner had it sprayed in Marlboro colors and had some older JHA race pipes with very old and tatty aluminum silencers. The bike was a blast though to ride and Leigh was really happy and enjoyed the bike for a few years.

After a few years later, Leigh rode the NSR less frequently due to work, his friends selling their bikes and a new project car he purchased so this little NSR spent a lot of time in storage.

Around the summer of 2005 Leigh was bitten by the NSR bug once more and started to ride a lot more like he did a few years back. He wanted to update his NSR with a fresher and more modern look and got in touch with Tyga Performance who helped him out.

Paul at Tyga Performance recommended their brand new RSW kit which featured very sharp looking twin headlights with integrated turn signals for a much cleaner look. Leigh thought it would be perfect for his NSR that he wanted to update and ordered the complete kit which also included the cool Tyga GP rear seat, light weight seat subframe, LED brake light as well as the RSW type front fender. Tyga also included an entire decal kit which Leigh took along with the NSR and new bodywork to his friends paint shop and had the bike custom painted in these very eye catching Fortuna colors.

Still not satisfied, Leigh got in touch with JHA and ordered some brand new Titanium silencers, an HRC 030 card, carb setting parts, HRC rear brake reservoir, carbon fiber look meter panel and other parts. New tires were added, suspension was checked over and Coerce rear sets were installed.

Leigh is still not finished with his bike, he is got some brake improvements on the go right now with new silver Nissin calipers, kevlar brake lines, new pads and he plans to add a steering damper, carbon fiber rear hugger and even more. Leigh is really pleased how the bike turned out and can not believe how much fun a 10 year old plus bike is.
