September/August 2009

201K - Click for full size image The September / August 2009 Bike of the Month belongs to Mr. Nonocchi from Japan.
Mr. Nonocchi's NSR started off as a stock 1992 SE MC21 model many years ago. Over the years he has done several upgrades and modifications to improve performance and the looks of his bike. 186K - Click for full size image
206K - Click for full size image Mr. Nonocchi wanted to update the looks of his bike to a more modern NSR and decided on the MC28 NSR bodywork. It fits well and required no major work. The upper and lower fairing is a lightweight fiberglass piece.
The rear seat is the famous Tyga unit with their lightweight aluminum seat bracket and LED light. The front fender and screen are from Magical Racing 251K - Click for full size image
230K - Click for full size image The bike was pulled apart and the bodywork and tank were painted in Repsol Racing colors and custom stickers applied than clear coated over. A complete rear suspension and wheel from a MC28 NSR were located locally on the auctions here and it was modified to fit the MC21 frame. Wheels were powder coated in the orange and new high performance tires fitted.
The bike was put back together and any old parts were replaced with new ones or after market parts from Japan. The suspension was all rebuilt and a rear Ohlins shock fitted. A steering damper from HRC as well as very rare HRC rear sets were added too. Other upgrades are the COERCE front fork brace and the billet top triple clamp. 186K - Click for full size image
125K - Click for full size image The engine was rebuilt and the oil pump removed, this NSR runs premix and was dyno checked to put out 65.5 rear wheel HP. This is helped by the Dog Fight Racing pipes with titanium silencers, rejetted carbs with HRC parts, JHA air box, HRC reeds and is cooled with the massive RS250 triple core radiator. Brakes are improved with a Brembo master cylinder, steel braided brake lines and MC28 discs converted to full floating buttons. Other extras are the custom sprockets, Mag-Tek wheels, custom gauge face plates and chain guard.
