think you have what it takes to make it as a Bike of the Month? If so,
please contact me with some pictures and info so we can show off your
NSR to the entire world to see.
2009/January 2010 Bike of the Month belongs to Mr. Yoshi from the Tokyo
area of Japan.
had bought this NSR a couple of years ago with the intention of starting
a whole new project that would involve him redoing his NSR with a whole
new look and complete restoration with more modern looks and performance.
step was to completely tear the bike down to its frame and dissemble everything.
During this time Mr. Yoshi had done some research and had a good idea
of what he wanted and starting collecting the parts from various shops
and online auctions in Japan.
is very cool, the front upper and lower fairing is a RS250 one from Speed
Design. The light was custom fabricated and the fairing cut to match it
along with custom made stays to hold the fairing in place. A new wind
screen and front fender from a RS250 were added as well. The seat is the
classic TYGA GP type seat with its sharp looks and LED lights. The frame
was beautifully polished to a mirror like finish.
step was to rebuild the engine. This was handled by a local tuning shop
in the Tokyo area and they did a great job unleashing the full power of
the MC21 engine. Other performance goodies are the modified airbox with
Daytona Turbo filter, custom carbs, lightened and balanced crankshaft,
custom stainless steel racing pipes with titanium silencers and more.
was upgraded with a complete RS250(NF5) front end including the brake
calipers. The suspension was rebuilt and revalved by Japan's top suspension
tuning shop OKUMURA Japan along with the stock SP rear shock. A single
sided rear swingarm from a MC28 SP was custom fit to the MC21 frame and
holds MC28 Magtek wheels front and back with new rubber. Brakes have been
upgraded with the stock but rebuilt RS250 calipers, Sunstar 296mm floating
discs, braided lines all around, BREMBO 19mm radial billet master cylinder
and high performance pads
extras are the MC28 tank, custom carbon fiber rear fender/hugger, carbon
fiber side view mirror, LED tail and turn signals, billet rear sets, alloy
sprockets and more. The paint work and decals are designed on the MoviStar
Fortuna colors with a Rothmans Honda racing theme that turned out extremely
well with the gold powder coated magnesium wheels and blue metallic paint
job. Well done Mr. Yoshi !!
every month I try to feature a different NSR in this section. Recently
it has become a bimonthly feature due to time restrictions and a lack
of material. Above you can check out the featured Bike of the Month and
past Bikes of the Month. Do you think your NSR belongs here ? Then send
a few pictures and some information and maybe we can feature it here.
Mail me here. Cheers !!
