Some of you may remember Anh Tuan's NSR as a past Bike of the Month. It was featured in November 2001. His bike has been totally transformed and upgraded in many ways. 89K - Click for full size image
65K - Click for full size image Anh Tuan is a member of the Apex Moto Racing team. He enjoys riding his NSR hard around his favorite Southern California twisties and attends many track day events too.
Anh Tuan wanted a new look for his NSR, so Apex Moto helped out with the latest version TYGA bodywork consisting of a Tyga 500 Upper cowl and lower cowl two piece set with the new spark headlight / turn signal combo. 71K - Click for full size image
53K - Click for full size image The GP rear seat is also the latest creation from Tyga. This one piece lightweight seat looks great and gives Anh Tuans NSR a whole new look. Apex Moto also supplied the TYGA seat cowl fitting kit which consists of aluminum subframe, battery box, LED tail light, seat pad and undertray. The light was not yet fixed when this picture was taken ( left ) but has since been fitted and works very well.
A Tyga screen and upper cowl bracket stay along with a Tyga replica RS250 fender finish off the this bike in the looks department. Apex Moto handled all the custom decals and beautiful paintwork which was meticulously polished to perfection. 90K - Click for full size image
85K - Click for full size image Looking at the front end it is obvious something is going on there. Apex Moto located a late model RS250 complete front end and modified them to fit the NSR250. The stock NSR stem shaft was retained and pressed into the RS250 lower triple clamp.
The front forks were completely rebuilt and revalved to suit Anh Tuans riding style by PPS. Interesting preload adjusters from Lockhart Phillips. Ohlins steering damper and a Scott's rotary damper mount stem nut (which could be used later on for a new center mounted damper kit, currently in the design phase). Clip ons with carbon fiber handle bars, single carbon mirror and a bicycle speedometer were also added. 106K - Click for full size image
95K - Click for full size image Braking is handled by the larger ( 296mm ) floating RS discs, Brembo cast calipers, Tyga stainless brake lines, sport pads and a Brembo street master cylinder. The front wheel is a five spoke Marchesini wheel. Tires are DUNLOP D207GP sportmax series. Wheels have been powder coated blue.
The engine was rebuilt and tuned by Harry Okuda for increased power and improved intake along with K & N filters and rejetted. HRC 030 card and modified HRC loom for street use derestrict the electrical part of this MC28. 95K - Click for full size image
94K - Click for full size image Tyga Performance stainless steel GP race pipes with Carbon fiber silencers finish off the derestriction process, give maximum power and look absolutely wild. Tyga rearsets keep the riders feet away from the pavement during hard cornering.
Apex Moto is currently in the process of designing a rear shock exclusively for the NSR to be built by Fox shocks. If you happen to live or be in the area near Garden Grove, California then stop by and visit the guys at APEX MOTO for some NSR fun. 38K - Click for full size image
